the Oxford Clinical Hypnotherapy Practice Oxfordshire

what is clinical hypnotherapy?

Clinical hypnotherapy is a safe, non-addictive and, above all, effective form of treatment for many psychological and physical conditions.

It uses hypnosis (a relaxed, focused state of attention) in a therapeutic capacity to bypass the critical factor of the mind and gain direct access to the powerhouse of the mind - the unconscious mind. Once in a state of conscious relaxation, simple therapeutic techniques (such as direct positive suggestion, creative visualisation, mental rehearsal and regression) can be safely applied to make lasting change, positively influencing the emotions, thought processes, physical reactions and behavioural responses.

As applied by Christine Woolfenden, clinical hypnotherapy combines the benefits of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT), counselling, psychotherapy, hypnoanalysis and traditional hypnosis.
